Monitoring
What is actually watched, and why it matters
Monitoring that only tells you a server is running tells you nothing useful. These are the things that fail in ways people notice.
- 01
Service availability
Whether the application, licence and integration services are actually up, rather than whether the machine responds to a ping.
- 02
Backup completion
That a backup ran is not the same as that it would restore. Restores are tested, not assumed.
- 03
Database growth
Databases grow quietly and then stop being quiet. Trends are watched so capacity is a planned decision.
- 04
Integration queues
Anything stuck or retrying, with an alert to a person rather than a line in a log nobody reads.
- 05
Failed logins and access
Who has access and who is trying to, which matters more each year.
- 06
Version and patch level
Where you are against what SAP currently supports, so an upgrade is planned rather than forced.
Support
The same people who configured it
What you get
- A named team that knows your configuration
- Direct access, not a first-line queue
- Environment administration and monitoring
- Version upgrades planned with you
- Small changes and reports as they come up
What is agreed in writing
- Coverage hours
- Response and escalation expectations
- What counts as an incident and what is a change
- Named contacts on both sides
- Anything outside the agreement, and how it is quoted
Why there are no response times on this page
Because a number published on a website is marketing, and a number in a signed agreement is a commitment. Coverage hours, response expectations and escalation are set out in your support contract, sized to what your operation actually needs. Ask us what we will commit to and we will put it in writing.
